York wins Senior Primary Swim Carnival

It was great to see the energy, enthusiasm and team spirit shown at Unley Swim Centre for our Year 4 – 6 Swim Carnival.  The students were free to enter events in the 4 individual strokes, or be part of the ever popular Novelty races. It was wonderful to see so many swimmers giving these events a go, which is a testament to the lessons our Immanuel students have had at iSwim over the past three weeks.

The morning got off to a very enthusiastic start, led by our very capable Sports’ Leaders. Each House then got into the spirit of the day by sharing their creative War Cries.

We were very proud of our swimmers and the way they cheered each other on showing great support for their house and teammates.  The finals were exciting and we saw quality swimming take place where a number of our placegetters will now move to the Immanuel Swim Team to represent the school at the SAPSASA Airport Trials and other Independent Swim Meets over the year.

After the results were counted and scores tallied, I had great pleasure in announcing that the winners of the 2020 Senior Primary Swim Carnival, were York for the second year in a row. Congratulations to all York competitors.
