Serving our Elderly Community

On a  Friday in August the Auditorium was filled with Senior Citizens from across the school community, the local area and even the other side of the city. Seniors from Fullarton Lutheran Homes, Seasiders’ Day Respite Program, Camden Community Centre, Athelstone Friendship Club and grandparents from the Immanuel Primary School community gathered to be entertained by the IPS Orchestra, Soh Sharp and Ray of Sunshine choirs, Year 3 Recorder group, vocal ensembles and solo acts.

Our visitors were greeted and served refreshments by our Year 6 Leadership Team who also chatted with them prior to the beginning of the concert. Once the ‘Young At Heart’ concert began the audience were treated to enthusiastic and heartfelt performances. It was lovely to hear the keen response from audience members throughout and after the performance and many of the groups look forward to attending each year. How beautiful that our students are able to bring such joy and entertainment to those in the community.  A great time was had by all and we look forward to once again being able to serve in 2020.

Special thanks to Peter Habib and Cathy Travaglione for preparing the students for this exceptional concert. A great way for us to serve our community.
